TOOLS for Biobank Members

Member biobanks can update biospecimen data and review researcher applications on the BCBA Biobank Network Database

GUIDELINES AND FRAMEWORKs

BCBA Minimum Clinical Dataset Recommendations for Brain Cancer Biobanks

A BCBA working group developed the recommended brain cancer biobanking minimum clinical dataset to guide the integration of data from multiple existing biobanks for research studies and for planning prospective brain cancer biobanking activities.

Biobank Certification Program

NSW Heath Pathology has established a biobank certification program designed to promote adherence to best practices for biobanking. The program has been adapted from the certification program designed and delivered in Canada by the Office of Biobank Education and Research (OBER) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver and the Canadian Tissue Repository Network (CTRNet). Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) templates are available for biobanks undertaking the certification process.
